I'm up when I shouldn't be, back from my vacation, and back in the classroom at college. A snow blower woke me up at the charged hour of 7 in the morning without asking and I dislike snow. Needless to say as it smatters my window a litany of curse words come out of my mouth. They are colorful for the hour and time. I have tea now and I'm trying to dampen both the cold I've been nursing for several days, and the need to get a new job. It looks like the old one didn't quite work out, it still has yet to develop, but the fit doesn't seem right. Onwards and I hope, upwards. Got a few other articles in the works about beer, ecofriendly stuff, and a possible travel piece.
Still not sure how I feel about publishing moving to the internet. Granted, it's easier for me to do my job, but also more competetive. As well as the fact that I just like paper. It smells and feels good. I'll miss that.

Writing Inspiration
I've always found I'm most pushed to work when I know I can't work and then I get a workaholic like itch to write, write, write. I'm a little jaded now though and have a hard time writing for anything but money, the pleasure of writing is there, but at the end of the day money comes first. Oh, I have succumbed to a sell-out like level!
Anywho, so I'm sitting here overlooking jobs I can't have because I'm going to Europe for two weeks and thinking about how great the trip is going to be because it might inspire me. Aren't I supposed to not be thinking about work at a time like this, shouldn't it be vacation for me? One would think so. A workaholic writer's job is never done. And I'm crazy. Wish I could turn off that odd striking muse, she likes to play games with her timing.

Europe
This has not much to do with writing, but in five days I'm traveling to Europe for much inspiration. Wish me luck. I'm terrified. Two whole weeks abroad all by myself with my little notebook. Here's hoping I can make a buck.

New Job
For the New Year I have the prospect of a new job. It won't pay steller, but it will be more money than I'm currently racking in and I'll get a byline rather than just a ghostwriting fee. Ghostwriting can have it's ups and downs, especially when I'd like some credit once and a while. I'll keep you posted on how the job works out. I'll be doing most of the written work for a website.
