Works in Progress

I figured I'd give up a little information today in the form of my current work in progress numbers. They are pretty daunting and pretty entertaining. So here's what I have under my belt:
  • 2 historical erotic romance
  • 4 paranormal erotic romance
  • 4 straight erotica
There are probably more logged into my files that I can't find right now. I know I have six more story ideas on my blackberry. But these are all work in progresses that are currently started with more than 5 pages. I'm a busy, busy woman this 2010 and I doubt I'll be able to finish and sub all of them this year, because that would make me super woman and super woman I am not. So what about you? What do you have planned for 2010-2011?

A snippet for a good day

Today's a good day so in honor of that I decided to share a snippet from my work in progress "Not So Pure" a twisted Snow White tale:

She watched him grow still, hands clenched into fists. His Adams apple did a dance inside his throat when he swallowed. The eyes that met hers were fierce with lust, his mouth a flat line. She trembled at his indecision wanting this to be the last time he decided to turn away from her body. Tension pulsed against her skin. She could glimpse the straining head of his cock against his linen pants. He took a step forward wetting his lips with the tip of his tongue and she thought she gasped out loud. She shuddered the movement creating a clenching tightness in her pussy. Her nipples hardened from the attention and she felt the urge to cover her exposed bits.

“You want this? You’re sure?” He mumbled roughly undoing the fly of his pants.

She sat transfixed as he whipped out his aroused cock not even bothering to take his pants down. It was comparatively larger than she was expecting making her mouth dry and her palms moist. The roar in her head grew deafening when he smoothed his hand along his shaft from base to tip. She could glimpse a dot of pre-cum on the circumcised head, his hand working long, hard strokes over the sensitive flesh. She clenched her hands in her lap to keep from working her own aroused nub with her finger.

His eyes were focused on the gap from neck to naval that had once been her dress. Each frenzied stroke bowed his spine making one hand clench white knuckled onto the table. She couldn’t look away from his wild eyed passion even when she knew that he was using her as a play toy. She would get no release and he would have his way with her, perhaps as punishment, perhaps as a way to warn her off from what she couldn’t have. His eyes closed, seed seeping through his fingers and between her legs dripping onto the dress. She thought she was going to be sick pushing him out of the way onto the floor and charging up the small wooden steps.

She cast herself face first into one of their beds biting a pillow she wanted to scream so hard. But she would not give him the satisfaction of hearing her pain. Nor would she suffer bitterly over the loss of a man who wasn’t really much of a man at all if he couldn’t withstand the idea of bedding her when she offered. Through her haze of bitter betrayal she heard footsteps on the stairwell.

Snow

Thank God I'm buoyed down with enough work for three people in the coming week. We have more snow coming this way. Another 45 inches. I'm going to cry, pull my hair out, and read a lot of books. It's going to be hard to work with the husband drumming on the table every five seconds. My task for March first is to get my query letter, blurb, and manuscript for Blood Purgatory to my mentor. Which means I'm about ready to sex it up big time. Kensington Aphrodesia, here I come. Or, ya know, I'll try really hard.

HTML COPY PASTE:

Good With His Hands
By: Michelle M. Pillow

Photographer Teresa Kelley is on assignment to shoot old ghost towns and desert scenery. What she doesn’t anticipate is that scenery including the delicious Max Draper. The sizzling desert sun isn’t the only thing heating up the abandoned mining town when the hot, muscled and oh-so-sexy mechanic offers to give her a hand. Snow is not good for my creativity

I have discovered through this hellish week of blizzard-y evilness that my muse dislikes snow just about as much as I do, which is a lot. I hardly feel like working when I look outside, making pages is like wearing a lead weight around each finger. It's pretty ridiculous. I have managed to get some good ground work going on a new erotic novella and also my paranormal novel that has been consuming my mind as I wrote Blood Purgatory. But man it hasn't been easy. Maybe because snow days always symbolize breaks? Like when you were a kid and a snow day was the best thing in the world because it meant no school work. Maybe my muse likes to think of it as a mental snow day. Except it's been a mental snow week and it's time to get cracking!

I've still got two hours until Vampire Diaries starts. Let's see how many words I can crack before then. So far my word count for today is 2k, but with this week's laziness, I think we can do better than that!

Contract Confusion

Signing a new contract is always an awesome high and a stress filled low. Mostly because unless you have a degree in contract legalese, it's hard to figure out everyone on the contract without a detailed read 3 or 4 times. At least that's the way it is for me. I never like to sign my name to something unless I fully understand every word on that piece of paper. Trudging through that piece of paper until I understand it can be a big pain in the butt and I'm sure some other authors feel the same way. To celebrate my new contract with Xcite for their e-book anthology I'm going to provide a few helpful links when it comes to author contracts. Here we go:
If all this craziness just looks like too much to handle, acquiring an agent can do wonders to help you understand contracts and negotiate them for you.If you were really, really bored by this post here's somethings that might cheer you up.
Pick your poison and I hope this post helped you in some shape or form!

    Finished Blood Purgatory

Yesterday, I finished the third draft of my paranormal erotic romance, Blood Purgatory. Right now it's sitting with a few people who are going to be good enough to critique it and then I'll hammer out the major issues, re-read it in two weeks and make notes, and then send it out on its merry way. A sigh of relief, excitement, and pride doesn't begin to cover my feelings. Although, trying to keep myself busy with things other than writing is really hard. I always give myself 3 days to refresh regardless of whether I need it or not. What's next on my agenda? The paranormal romance novella that quickly turned into a novel. I wrote 26k in two weeks and then was disrupted by the novel. So now it’s back to enrich the novella.

Book Recommendation : Kristin Painter- Her Viking Valentine

Hi guys, so this is an awesome short free read from Kristin Painter. It's a continuation of the character's from her previous work All Fired Up, but you don't have to have read that previously to get enjoyment out of this quickie. It's a really great read and I'd highly recommend checking out All Fired Up. Here's the quick blurb for Her Viking Valentine:

A Viking chieftain and his modern day bride get tested by the goddess of love on their first Valentine’s Day.

And in case you were wondering, here's the blurb for All Fired Up:

Desire can heal the coldest heart—or burn it to ashes.

Alrik Gunn knows from bitter experience that change isn’t always for the better. From the woman who annihilated his Viking clan to the goddess who tricked him into centuries of slavery, betrayal has dogged his existence. The Goddess of Love is going to let him avenge his family, but for a price. As a Phoenix—a merchant of change—he must grant a human woman three chances to change her life.

When former Irish dancer Calleigh McCarthy tosses a carved-bird statue that belonged to her ex into a roaring bonfire, she unwittingly summons an honest-to-god Phoenix. A sexy, irresistible Viking who offers her an unbelievable bonus—three get-out-of-her-crappy-life-free cards. She’ll take it, even if it means guarding her cautious heart against the dark pain behind Alrik’s eyes.

Alrik has vowed never to let love sway him again, but Calleigh’s innocence and kindness throw him off balance. Yet even as his need for revenge fades and his love for her grows, he is bound to let her make her choices without interfering.

One wrongly chosen word, and any chance for happiness—for either of them—will go up in flames.

In honor of Check Out's Feb 8th, 2010 release date I've got two steamy excerpts to share today. Check out is available for Amazon Kindle and other e-reader formats as well as pdf.

    Blurb:
Hardcore punk rocker Jennifer's been exiled from her safe, far away college back to her small town. The trouble started when she was caught having sex with her college adviser, Paul---by the Dean of Students. All she wants to do is damn the man and the trouble has just kept coming. She's forced by her socialite parents to work the night shift in her local grocery store while feigning off come-on's from customers and a circa 1950's boss.

But things get more complicated when Paul comes back into town for a little stop-and-shop. Jennifer is forced to confront their growing master/slave relationship and the mounting feelings she's been harboring all summer. Meanwhile, Paul the good ol' boy whose grown up playing football and exuding charm is ready to put Jennifer's smart little mouth to work. All she wants is for him to stay. But he won't take anything from her without a price.

    Excerpt:
“I need a pack of cigarettes.”

I already knew the brand he smoked. I had them in my hands in seconds, transferring them over the counter for his inspection. His cold hand clamped down over mine and it made me sigh with a mix of anticipation and disappointment. I pulled myself away before he could do any more damage and promised myself an orgasm later when I could get the chance to lock the girl's bathroom door. The cigarette pack was still in my hand. An idea whispered through my skull. I could have him back if only for a moment. All I had to do was be myself.

    “I need identification, Paul.”
    “You...what?”
“Identification. For your cigarettes, it's state law here. If I don't check it I'll get fired.”

I knew I wouldn't get fired. I just couldn't watch him move away from me as the ache in my pussy grew worse, untouched. I pushed the only button I had left and watched his eyes smolder and bore into me with his anger. I knew what was coming next. I had baited it.

“What the fuck, Jennifer? Are you serious? You know how old I am!” He hissed under his breathe.

He was close to me now. Hovering over the counter-top with his hands spread apart. They were larger than I remembered. It formed a lump in my throat.  I could smell the mint on his breathe. Feel the clothe of his shirt as it rubbed against my wrist. A faint pounding in my head. I twirled my pink hair around my finger feigning disinterest. Leaning against the counter so my v-neck shirt gave him a good view of my ample cleavage.

“ID. Please. Sir.” Each word soft and slow.

I smirked and smacked my lips together trying to look as innocent as possible when his hands plunged down to the sides of my shirt collar and lifted me from the ground. I dangled like a helpless rag doll. A secret laughter bubbled up inside me from his angry touch. The feel of his now warm hands on either side of my neck made my pulse quicken, mouth dry. My fingers roamed over the crotch of my pants. I giggled in relief as he pulled me against the counter so hard I knew my hip bones would bruise in the morning. He flicked his tongue over my lips. The light sensation undid me at the seams and my body shuddered in his grip. A gasp that made the lines he was tracing on my upper lip cold, sensual.

Then he was kissing me, pulling at my lips with his teeth as the distant rip of fabric pulled me back to a solid reality. He, with help from gravity, had torn the collar off my polo shirt. I was back on my feet, his arms around my waist, a solid immoveable force.

Sex Tool is available Feb 8th 2010 for Amazon Kindle as well as all e-reader formats and pdf.
    Blurb:
Everyone knows "that guy" at a party. The man who hits on innocent women all night with all the moves in the world but he just screams sleaze. Marcia goes to her friend's parties specifically to teach these men a lesson. She see's her mark from across the room and outwits him in confidence and speed, then she takes him to bed with her to earn and learn some respect for females everywhere.

At a Halloween party she's met her match, a gorgeous player that just doesn't know when no means no. He's the perfect specimen for an experiment dealing with a lose of control, and he's going to be her lab rat for the night. Marcia takes her dominatrix duties by night as seriously as she takes her lover's. There is always room for reform.

What unfolds is a searing session in BDSM that whips her one night stand into shape and right into Marcia's arms. He is caressed with pain, as well as want, from a woman who opens his eyes to the power of female sexuality. Rounds of sexual gauntlets and consent join these two together in their lesson on gender balance. Tip the scales and bend over boyfriend.

    Excerpt:

My scalp had already started tingling from the tinsel wig when cocky boy got in over his head. His hands spanned the nice ass of a girl in bunny ears in front of him. Short brown hair curled out, that must have taken time, and a sprite form. She was packing a push-up bra underneath all that wire and mesh holding her in--complete with tail. I giggled at my small inner joke and heads careened towards me from different directions around me. Ignoring them I watched the muscular jaw work over nothing, a nervous gesture I was sure, while his fine hands traveled along her ass. She didn't slap him but her pink lined mouth nearly dropped to the floor like an Elf ready to give Santa a blow job. It would have made me laugh but right now it made my breathing tight. The girl looked like she would cry, as if these kind of advances along her ass were new. I could see her green eyes well up from here.

I couldn't do it. My hand gripped his wrist and wrenched upwards. His skin slicker than I had imagined, almost feminine in it's softness. The juice from the peppermint glittering behind his teeth met my nose as he scrambled to get me off him.
“Excuse me? What the fuck, lady!”
Not the formal protest I was expecting but it would do with his arm struggling under my tight gaze. I watched the hairless forearm twist before letting him go and shooing the little girl away from the punch table. She bounded away in her bunny suit every bit scared shitless.
“You're a turn-off tonight.” I drawled and leaned against the buffet table. The feeling of cold metal leaking into latex encasing my waist.
“I don't get you! Where do you come off doing that?”
“I'd do it again. She didn't like you.”
“We were getting to know each other better.” He gave me a look that said he bought into the lie. Pathetic.
“You're pathetic.” I was never one to mince my words around strangers
            “You're a bitch, fuck you!”
White neckband of his collar arched out from his beef head neck and I could hear his rasped breathing. I gave him a solid once-over. The tan on his skin had started to fade sharply at the corners making me think fake. Bleached- blonde gel tresses float over his fierce brown brows. It smelled like pineapple as I moved closer, our heads almost level with one another. He was skinny. Nice arms, thickly developed, good for cable rope lining his wrists. The brown eyes narrowed during my assessment. I gave him no time for a retort.
            “What's your number?”
Now it was his turn to gape. The hard candy fell out of his mouth and almost hit my forehead to which I quirked an eyebrow before pilfering a sharpie from my purse. The green little marker sat in the fake cauldron I had been toting around all night. I offered an arm now free of turpentine smelling green paint.
“Number.” It wasn't a question. His bluff was called.
He scrawled several babyish squiggles along my arm, shoved the pen in the top of my outfit at my breasts, and shuffled off looking defeated. I watched the way his ass moved in the black priest pants and my pussy clenched at the chiseled submission and secret promise.

The Period Pieces Have Been Working For Me

I watched movies today and wrote for five hours. Came out with thirteen plus pages on my draft that I've been working with on and off. I'm hoping to finish Cam and Trey this week and be able to send it off to people for extensive revisions. We will see how that plan works out. I had to cut and shelve four scenes and then add two including a sex scene and a argument scene where the hero/heroine basically just didn't feel like taking crap from each other. It was good stuff. It felt very in the moment. I only hope my next book comes a little easier to me than this one. I also have 10 plus plotted scene diagnostic work sheets so I'm ready to dissect and rip apart the next couple of chapters. Then all that's left to rewrite is my ending and it's off to the races.
